WHAT
Across the weekend of March 1-3, we will showcase a wide variety of Welsh Art in our exhibition, conference, workshops and seminars. Our theme is ‘doing a new thing’. This will be an opportunity for artists of all mediums to experiment and collaborate with other artists and branch out in new and exciting areas of work; from combining photography with music, painting with video art - we are open to all suggestions!
WHY
At Urban Crofters, we want to connect Welsh creatives, offer inspiration and encouragement, build spaces for creatives to network, and build friendships around common ground. Through Hadau, we want to explore creativity and create conversations through the lens of faith. The name Hadau, meaning ‘seeds’, addresses our desire to ‘scatter seeds of creativity and hope’ in our local community and beyond.
HOW
The Hadau Festival will begin with the opening of the Art Exhibition on Friday night. This will be our first opportunity to celebrate the work, meet the artists and enjoy an evening of drinks, socialising and performance. The evening will be free to attend and there will be a paid bar. Saturday will be a full-day conference including keynote speaker, workshops and seminars plus a dinner and dance in the evening.
Exhibit your work with us
Anyone living in Wales or with a strong connection to Wales is welcome to submit work for our exhibition. There will be a selection process for the exhibition by the curators.
This is an opportunity for creatives to contribute to creating a stimulating and thought-provoking exhibition in the Urban Crofters building through the season of Lent and beyond. The exhibition will run until May 9th.
Bursaries available
If you can offer your creative services across the weekend of the festival, we may be able to offer you a half-price ticket for the Saturday.
